Aboriginal Art-We will depict a period when aboriginal people lived by painting or drawing something that might have been significant in their life.  There was no written language, and their only way of communication was through drawing, painting and the use of ceremonial design and storytelling. Aboriginal artists often paint maps showing important landmarks. You can use watercolor, acrylic or collage. You might have to look for examples.

Papier Colle or Collage Paper-Colle is French for "pasted paper.” A collage of paper popularized by French artist Georges Braque. The difference between collage and Papier Colle is that the latter refers exclusively to the use of paper, while the former may incorporate other two-dimension (non-paper) components. As the term Papier Colle is not commonly used, this type of work is often simply called collage, which is a very familiar term.  You may choose either Papier Colle or collage for your exercise and can be of any subject matter.

Gestural Painting-Gestural is a term employed to characterize the technique of applying paint with bold, sweeping brush strokes in a free and expressive manner. The idea was that the viewer could perceive something of the artist's emotions. De Kooning painted in this manner to continually infuse his work with various elements, such as drama, anger, pain, and love, allowing the viewer to interpret these emotions or ideas through their own eyes. Consider what emotion you would like to paint, and the class will interpret through your eyes.
