Spirit of Zen

Art on the Commons is a juried display and sale of fine arts and fine crafts located in Lincoln Park Civic Commons in Kettering, Ohio.  

Art on the Commons has been awarded recognition from Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the top U.S. festivals. The Dayton-based Business Weekly publication has also listed Art on the Commons as one of the top regional festivals, measured through attendance.

Workshops by Rosie Huart are designed to implement creative ways of encountering the soul’s inner journey through art. 

In these experiential workshops painting, poetry and collage are explored. Other components, such as music, meditation and sharing, are fashioned to enhance the creative process and play a significant role, as we examine different ways of self-expression. 

 The spirituality and art workshops are adapted according to individual groups and length of days. 

Emphasis is more on process than an end result, although a finished project is oftentimes achieved.  For further information, contact Rosie.

Canyon Call

The View exhibition is being held at Rosewood Arts Centre in Kettering, Ohio, until July 23, 2010.  Canyon Call was selected for the Award for Excellence this year.

Painting & More

Fall quarter classes start Tuesday after Labor Day, 9 am-noon, for 11 weeks at Lohrey Center in Belmont.   Registration is held the first day of class at Lohrey.

The Painting Poetically exhibition was recently held at Synesthesia Gallery in Centerville, Ohio.  Rosie was interviewed by Dayton Public Access Television and in the interview was Rob Turner, the baroque flutist, who played for the opening.   Some of Rosie's students were also interviewed.   Rosie teaches painting through Sinclair Community College's Lifelong Learning classes.

A juried landscape exhibition at Rosewood Arts Centre in Kettering.  Opening reception is Sunday, June 27, 2010, 2-4 PM.  Earth Echoes and Canyon Call were the ones selected for the show.  Canyon Call received "An Award of Excellence."

I had a piece selected for the 33rd Juried Exhibition of OWS which will be at the Canton Museum of Art.  The exhibit will be on display from September 4-October 31, 2010.  The museum is located at 1001 Market Avenue North, Canton, Ohio.  The opening reception and awards banquet is September 4th, 2-5 pm.
